BROWN, SARAH.jpg

Pastor Sarah Brown grew up just 50 miles north of Chicago in the rural community of Ingleside, Ill. She was born and raised in the Lutheran church that her grandparents helped found and from a very early age knew that she wanted to help people.

Pastor Sarah has served a number of different churches in various parts of the U.S. She served a two-church parish in southwestern Iowa. One church was Swedish Lutheran and the other, located 26 miles away in another small town, was Norwegian Lutheran.

Pastor Sarah also served a larger congregation in southwest Florida located in a retirement community.

Pastor Sarah has served a 150-member congregation in the Appalachian Mountain town of Steubenville, Ohio. This was a blue-collar mining town with high unemployment, low income and a myriad of social issues.

Pastor Sarah and her husband Larry moved to the area earlier this fall. She has a daughter and son-in-law living in Tennessee and a son in northern Illinois. Larry has a daughter, son-in-law and four grandchildren living in Omaha, Neb.
